Five of the same family killed in a dreadful accident near Pollachi


Five people, including three men, a women and a child, were killed in an accident near Sellampalayam, Udumalpet, on Pollachi highways, today early morning.



Three others, sustained severe injuries and presently undergoing treatment. 

According to the police report, Natraj (70) a wholesale Onion merchant from Rajiv Nagar, Kottampatti, Pollachi along with his two sons, daughter-in-laws and grand children started to Rameshwaram on 26th September. Today morning while they were returning back to Pollachi, their car driven by his son, Anandhakrishnan (45) banged on a stationary lorry on the Pollachi-Udumalpet highways, near Sellampalayam Pirivu. Nataraj along with his two sons Anandakrishnan (45), Thirumurugan (42), daughter-in-law Jayalakshmi (40), grand daughter Srinithi (10) died on the spot in the devastating accident. 

His one more daughter-in-law Priya and grand kids Darshan and Sagithya are undergoing critical treatment at the Coimbatore government hospital. 

The Gomangalam police have registered a case against the accident and investigation is on. Initial reports states that Anandhakrishnan, who was supposedly driving the car fell asleep for a moment, resulting to this dreadful accident. 

The dreadful accident claiming the lives of five people of the same family has caused terrible distress among the locals and people of Natraj's village.
