Government hospital doctor commits suicide


A Government hospital doctor committed suicide at the hospital by consuming bathroom cleaning solution, here today.

Chakravathi (42) a cardiologist and his wife Jamunadevi (38), who is also a doctor are from Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore. The couple were working at the Coimbatore government Hospital. 

Around six months ago, Jamunadevi was transferred to Dharmapuri government hospital. A couple of days back, while she was alone, she committed suicide by consuming toilet cleaning solution. The nearby people rescued and rushed her to a private hospital at Dharmapuri. Later, she was shifted to a private hospital in Salem, yesterday she was shifted to KMCH, Coimbatore as her condition worsened. Unfortunately, he passed away today not responding to the treatment.

Her body has been brought to Coimbatore government hospital for post-mortemexamination. The Dharmapuri police have filed a case against the incident and probing the facts behind her suicide.
