About 1.18 acres of encroached reserved sites worth 9.15 crores retrieved by Corporation


Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) Special Officer Dr. Vijayakarthikeyan announced that officials will act tough on encroachers of reserved sites in each of the five wards in our city. In this regard a drive was organized by the CCMC officials and it came to light that about 1.18-acres of land worth 9.15-Crores of reserved sites reported encroached in our city. Notice boards have been placed on the reserved sites that have been encroached upon and action will be taken against encroachers.





In the west zone in ward #6 in Kavundampalayam and in Ramakrishna Nagar about 29-cents of land worth three crores is reportedly encroached. In central zone in ward #51 on 100 feet road, 8th street in Gandhipuram, it has come to light that a concern named Selva Cars has encroached two cents of land worth 50-lakhs. In the east zone in ward #36, in Shiva Nagar in Kalapatti, it has been reported that a temple has been constructed on a piece of land measuring 14.5 cents worth 95-lakhs. In the North zone in Shankar Nagar in Saravanampatti, huts have been constructed on a reserve site of land measuring 31 cent. This land is worth 50-lakhs. In the South zone in ward #91 about 42 cents of land worth 4.2 crores had been recovered by the Government.





Special Officer, Dr. Vijayakarthikeyan stated that this drive will continue and the reserved sites that have been encroached upon will be recovered.
