Coimbatore: A practicing lawyer from Coimbatore has lodged a cyber crime complaint against social media influencers Krish and Aishwarya Raghu, accusing them of allegedly promoting obscene and pornographic content through their Instagram handle “@krishandaish” and YouTube channels.
According to the complaint, the influencers allegedly shared videos endorsing the pornographic website “Naughty America” and glorifying pornographic acting through content circulated on social media. The petitioner claimed that such content could potentially influence minors and expose the public to obscene material.
The complaint further alleged that the acts constitute violations under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, including the electronic publication and transmission of obscene material and the dissemination of harmful content accessible to minors.
The complainant has also urged authorities to direct Instagram and YouTube to remove the alleged videos and block the accounts involved. In addition, the petition sought a detailed investigation into whether the influencers had received sponsorship or financial backing from pornographic websites.
