CCMC retrieves 15.25 crore worth of encroached reserve sites today.


As informed earlier, the City Corporation has begun initiating stringent action against all illegal encroachments at reserve sites that falls under the jurisdiction of the CCMC.  

Starting from a week before, the officials under the directives of Special Officer, Vijayakarthikeyan have been scrutinising ward by ward to rule out all encroachments made in reserve sites and take back possession.



Today, a massive drive was conducted in all five zones in the City. The CCMC has retrieved 1.46-acres of land worth 15.25 crores from all the five zones.   

Break-up of the retrieved land in all five zones:

West Zone - Ward #16:

Ramakrishna Nagar 15-cents of land and in New Thillai Nagar, 9th street 20-cents of land worth 3.50 crores were recovered

Central Zone - Ward #68:

Ramalinga Jothi Street - 10-cents, worth 1.50-crore was recovered. 

East Zone - Ward #57:

Near GV Residency, 44.4-cents of land worth 4.50 crores was recovered.

North Zone - Ward #30:

EB Colony, 6-cents of land worth 75-lakhs was recovered.

South Zone - Ward #97:

Gandhi street 50-cents of land worth 5-crores was recovered.

Special officer Dr. Vijayakarthikeyan assured that this drive will continue until all encroached reserve sites are retrieved in the city. He also apprised that legal action will be initiated against the encroachers who fail to vacate the land, post receiving notice for the same from CCMC.
