Voters camp held at Nilgriris


As part of the State-wide drive for carrying out corrections in the final voters’ list, a camp was conducted in Coimbatore and The Nilgiris on Saturday.

In the camp conducted at the 669 booths in The Nilgiris, 3,349 applications were received.

This included 2,027 applications for addition of names in the list.

After inspecting a few booths, District Collector P. Shankar said that according to the election commission’s instructions, a system was in place for voters to locate their booth.

He said that the pictures of the booth and route to the same have been uploaded towww.elections.tn.gov.inin PDF format. Voters can send an SMS of their EPIC Card to ‘1950’ and get their part number and serial number.

On entering those two numbers onwww.elections.tn.gov.in, the voters will be able to view the PDF file of the image of the booth and route. The collector made an appeal to voters to make use of the facility and exercise their franchise.
