IMD Forecasts Heavy Rain in Coimbatore on November 2, Nilgiris on November 2 and 3

Coimbatore: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has issued a fresh weather alert forecasting heavy rain at isolated places in Coimbatore on November 2, and in the Nilgiris district on November 2 and 3.

The warning comes after a brief lull in rainfall over the past few days, and arrives just ahead of Deepavali, which falls on November 8. The timing has raised concerns among small traders and street vendors who depend heavily on seasonal sales during the festive period.

Continued rainfall could disrupt business for roadside shops, pavement vendors and temporary stalls, which typically see increased customer footfall in the days leading up to the festival.

With festive preparations gaining momentum across the region, traders will be hoping for favourable weather conditions to sustain sales during one of the busiest periods of the year.
