Police have arrested three persons - Yasin, Anwar Sadiq and Sultan Pasha - for selling drugs and injections at night in Masakalipalayam area of Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Various measures are being taken on the orders of City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan to curb drug trafficking in Coimbatore city.
As part of this, the police were engaged in intensive patrolling in areas under singanallur police station limits. At that time, the police investigation revealed that some youths were selling drugs there.
As the police intensified patrolling, three youths were found standing suspiciously near the Corporation School in Masakalipalayam area.
When they were caught and interrogated, it was revealed that they were selling pills for intoxication.
On further investigation, it was found that the three were Identified as Sham alias Yasin (28), a resident of Ratnapura who works in a meat shop, Anwar Sadiq (28), a driver, and Sultan Pasha (27) of Saramedu, who works as a painter.
Following this, the Singanallur police immediately arrested them and seized 100 MG 168 tablets of dabendatol, 50 MG 190 tablets of depandadol, 32 bottles of sodium chloride injection used to mix the tablets, 10 used injections and 14 unused injections from them.
In this case, the youths who were involved in the sale of tablets for drugs were arrested and sent to jail. police have sounded an alarm bell that strict action will be taken against those selling drugs that cause harm to society as per the law.
