Young couple arrested for selling ganja near Kurichi

Husband and his wife were detained for selling ganja near Kurichi pirivu in Coimbatore. The police in Coimbatore are keeping a careful eye on the selling of ganja and gutka. In this case, Podanur police obtained information that ganja was being marketed to youths near Kurichi pirivu. A police team led by sub-inspector Selvam then patrolled near Kurichi pirivu.

The sale of ganja and gutka is being closely monitored by the police in Coimbatore. In this instance, the police in Podanur were informed that ganja was being sold close to Kurichi pirivu with youths being the intended market. A police squad led by sub-inspector Selvam then patrolled the area close to Kurichi pirivu.

Two persons, including a woman, who were standing suspiciously near a private restaurant, were summoned by the police and interrogated. Then they gave contradictory answers. When the police got suspicious and checked them, it was found that they were hiding ganja.

The arrested persons have been identified as Azharuddin (30), son of Sirajuddin, a resident of Ganga Nagar 8th Street in Kuniyamuthur, and his wife Sabeena (30). It was also revealed that the two had hidden ganja separately in small packets and were selling it targeting the youth.

The police arrested the duo and seized 1.100 kg of ganja from Sabina and 250 grams of ganja from Azharuddin. They were later produced in court and sent to jail.
