Tirupur:In a shocking incident, a woman was attacked and her hand was broken in the Karaipudur area near Palladam for dowry.

Rupini (24), daughter of Balasubramaniyam, a resident of Rajalakshmi Nagar near Arumuthampalayam panchayat tank Appichi koil near Palladam. She and Rajendran's son Raja (24), a resident of Anna Nagar in Karaipudur, have been in a relationship for six years since they were in college.

Their parents were opposed to their love because they were from different communities.

In this scenario, Rupini's sister's husband, Palanivel Raja, and Rupini got married in February.

Raja had joined a private gym in Porur as a trainee, so he took Rupini to Chennai, left her off at a rented house, and proceeded to work. The two had a difference of opinion and for the past one month, Raja allegedly beat up Rupini for dowry and broke Rubini's hand.

Rupini was brought from Chennai to Palladam Karaipudur last night and kept at his father Rajendran's house, where she was attacked by Raja and his family members. Rupini escaped the house with Blood shed and, with the assistance of her neighbours, called the police emergency number and notified them.

She was transported in an ambulance to Palladam Government Hospital for treatment.

A complaint has been lodged at rupini palladam all-women police station in this regard. Rupini's relatives have demanded action against Raja and his family members who broke her hand after beating her for dowry.
