Mother-son duo arrested for hoarding and selling liquor bottles near Sulur

Poovathal and her son Kumasamy, two residents of Sulur, Coimbatore district were arrested for selling TASMAC liquor in the black market. The police sub-inspector Marimuthu conducted a search at Appanaickenpatti near Sulur and recovered over 50 bottles of TASMAC liquor, which had their seal broken. As a result, the duo were arrested and sent to jail.



Coimbatore: Poovathal and her son Kumasamy were arrested and imprisoned for selling liquor in the Sulur black market.

Sulur police received a tip-off that TASMAC liquor was being purchased at Appanaickenpatti near Sulur in Coimbatore district and stored at home and sold at a higher price. Sulur police sub-inspector Marimuthu visited the spot and conducted a search.More than 50 TASMAC spirits bottles with cracked seals were stacked there.

They were also shown to be sold at higher prices.



Following this, Appanaickenpatti police arrested Poovathal and her son Kumasamy for allegedly selling liquor on the black market.



The police seized 58 bottles of liquor from them and registered a case against them and produced them in court and sent them to jail.
