Coimbatore: Sri Ramakrishna Hospital's Cardiology and Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Departments are hosting Coimbatore's largest cardiology exhibition on September 21 and 22, 2024, at Brookefields Mall. The event, organized to celebrate World Heart Day, aims to spread awareness and educate the public about heart health.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, IAS, in the presence of SNR Sons Charitable Trust Chief Executive Officer C. V. Ramkumar, Hospital Medical Director Dr. S. Rajagopal, and Medical Superintendent Dr. S. Alagappan on September 21. Consultants from the Department of Cardiology and Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery are leading the exhibition.
Visitors can explore interactive displays, including a 3D model of the human heart, pacemakers, and stents. The exhibition features a live stent demonstration, illustrating how blockages in the heart are treated through minimally invasive procedures. Additionally, there are exhibits on pacemakers, demonstrating their implantation and function in regulating abnormal heart rhythms.
The event also includes video demonstrations on advances in Paediatric Cardiology, specialized cardiac surgeries, Electrophysiology, and Laser Coronary Angioplasty. Students from Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Institute of Allied Health Sciences are conducting live mannequin CPR demonstrations to educate the public on effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques for emergencies.
A dedicated stall offers free diet counseling, with expert dieticians from Sri Ramakrishna Hospital providing advice on heart-healthy foods and habits to prevent heart disease.
