Tirupur Knitwear Companies Prepare for Ayudha Pooja Celebration

Tirupur knitwear companies are engaging in cleaning activities to celebrate Ayudha Pooja. Public shows keen interest in purchasing flowers and other items necessary for the festival.

Tirupur: As Ayudha Pooja approaches, Tirupur's knitwear industry is gearing up for a grand celebration. The industrial city is witnessing a flurry of activity as companies prepare to honor their tools and machinery, a central aspect of this festival.

Knitwear manufacturing units and related industries in Tirupur have temporarily halted production to thoroughly clean and prepare their machinery for the special pujas. Many companies are actively engaged in cleaning their equipment and premises, ensuring everything is in pristine condition for the celebration. Similarly, employees are also taking time to clean their vehicles as part of the festival preparations.

The festive spirit has spilled over to the public, with a noticeable increase in crowd at the Tirupur Corporation's daily flower market.

People are flocking to purchase flowers and other essential items for Ayudha Pooja, leading to a surge in demand and prices.

The flower prices have seen a significant rise due to the festival demand. Jasmine is being sold at ₹800 to ₹1000 per kilogram, Arabian Jasmine at ₹600 per kilogram, Marigold between ₹250 to ₹300 per kilogram, Champa at ₹300 per kilogram, and Crossandra at ₹500 per kilogram. Other puja essentials like banana saplings, puffed rice, and fruits have also experienced a slight increase in prices.

Despite the price hike, the public continues to purchase these items in large numbers.

The increased footfall at the flower market has resulted in traffic congestion in areas like Kumaran Road and Thennampalam, reflecting the city's enthusiasm for the upcoming Ayudha Pooja celebration.
