PMBJP Fertilisers Worth ₹10 Crore Reach Coimbatore; 1,300 Tonnes to Benefit Four Districts

Around 1,300 tonnes of subsidised fertilisers worth nearly ₹10 crore have arrived at the Coimbatore Goods Shed by rail under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Urvarak Pariyojana (PMBJP) and will be distributed to farmers across Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode and the Nilgiris.

Coimbatore: A consignment of around 1,300 tonnes of subsidised fertilisers, valued at nearly ₹10 crore, has reached the Coimbatore Goods Shed by rail and is set to be distributed to farmers across Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode and the Nilgiris ahead of the ongoing cultivation season.

The fertilisers have been supplied under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Urvarak Pariyojana (PMBJP), a Central Government initiative that provides quality fertilisers to farmers at subsidised prices under the unified ‘Bharat’ brand.

With demand for fertilisers increasing during the agricultural season, the consignment has been transported by rail to ensure adequate availability and prevent supply disruptions across the four districts.

The fertiliser bags, currently stocked at the Coimbatore Goods Shed warehouse, are being loaded onto lorries for onward transportation to cooperative societies and authorised fertiliser distribution centres, from where they will be made available to farmers at subsidised rates.

Officials said the latest consignment is expected to benefit thousands of farmers in Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode and the Nilgiris by ensuring timely access to essential agricultural inputs.

Emphasising the need for swift distribution, A. Pandian of Sakthi Fertilisers Corporation said fertilisers must reach farmers without delay during the cultivation season. He urged all stakeholders to extend their full cooperation in expediting the clearance of the fertiliser bags at the goods shed and their loading onto lorries, so that supplies can be dispatched to the four districts without any interruption.
