Southern Railway will operate weekly special trains between Tirunelveli and Mettupalayam during August to cater to increased passenger demand. The services will run for five trips in each direction with stoppages at Pollachi, Kinathukadavu, Podanur and Coimbatore Junction.
Coimbatore: To accommodate the anticipated increase in passenger traffic, Southern Railway will operate weekly special trains between Tirunelveli and Mettupalayam during August, with five services scheduled in each direction.
Train No. 06030 will depart Tirunelveli at 7 p.m. every Sunday from August 2 to August 30 and reach Mettupalayam at 7.30 a.m. the following day. The return service, Train No. 06029, will leave Mettupalayam at 7.45 p.m. every Monday from August 3 to August 31 and arrive in Tirunelveli at 8.05 a.m. the next day.
The special trains will consist of AC Two Tier, AC Three Tier, Sleeper Class, General Second Class and Luggage-cum-Brake Van coaches, including facilities for differently abled passengers.
During the journey, the trains will halt at Cheranmahadevi, Kallidaikurichi, Ambasamudram, Kizhakadaiyam, Pavoorchatram, Tenkasi, Kadayanallur, Sankarankovil, Rajapalayam, Srivilliputtur, Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Oddanchatram, Palani, Udumalaipettai, Pollachi, Kinathukadavu, Podanur and Coimbatore Junction before terminating at Mettupalayam.
