Perur Prohibition Enforcement Wing Destroys 1,934 Bottles Seized in Illegal Liquor Sale Cases

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Police have destroyed 1,934 liquor bottles seized in connection with 195 cases registered across the district for illegal liquor sales.
According to the district police, the action was carried out by the Perur Prohibition Enforcement Wing after obtaining the necessary court orders, with the seized liquor bottles destroyed in accordance with prescribed legal procedures.
The operation was conducted on the instructions of Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police A. Pavan Kumar Reddy, IPS, as part of ongoing measures to prevent the illegal sale of liquor across the district.
Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Prohibition Enforcement Wing Thangam oversaw the destruction process. Excise Division Officer Mohan Babu and Excise Tahsildar Alamelu Mangai were also present during the operation.
The Coimbatore District Police stated that surveillance and enforcement measures would continue to prevent illegal liquor sales and ensure public safety. The police also warned that strict legal action would be taken against those involved in the illegal sale of liquor.
The public has been urged to cooperate with the police by sharing information about illegal liquor sales to help maintain law and order.
