Coimbatore Artist Jeevananthan Receives Lifetime Achievement Award in Chennai

Coimbatore: Coimbatore-based artist V. Jeevananthan was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 47th Year Award Ceremony of the Sri Sivakumar Educational and Charitable Trust, held in association with the Agaram Foundation in Chennai on Sunday, October 11.

Jeevananthan, president of Chithirakala Academy in Coimbatore, received the honour in recognition of his contribution to painting. The award carried a cash prize of ₹1 lakh and was presented at the Agaram Foundation office on Arulambal Street, T. Nagar, Chennai.

The 47th Year Award Ceremony brought together the distinct yet complementary missions of the Sri Sivakumar Educational and Charitable Trust and the Agaram Foundation to recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to education, the arts and society. While the Sri Sivakumar Educational and Charitable Trust has a longstanding tradition of honouring academic achievers and distinguished contributors, the Agaram Foundation, established in 2006 by actor Suriya Sivakumar, works to improve access to education for students from rural and disadvantaged backgrounds. Through their collaboration, the two organisations extended this recognition to individuals whose achievements and contributions reflect a lasting impact on society.

The recognition to Jeevananthan, a recipient of the Kalaimamani Award by the Tamil Nadu Government, brings honour to Coimbatore's artistic community, acknowledging the lasting contribution of his work to the art of painting.
