Coimbatore May See Light Rain Till October 31 Even As Tamil Nadu Turns Dry

Coimbatore: Coimbatore district is likely to continue receiving light rainfall through October 31 even as the rest of Tamil Nadu heads into a dry spell from October 27, according to weather blogger Pradeep John and forecasts from the India Meteorological Department.
Pradeep John said the low-pressure system that had been driving rain across the state has shifted towards the Delta region and the northern Sri Lankan coast. This shift has reduced the likelihood of the widespread rainfall that was initially expected along the Chennai–Puducherry coast.
Rainfall is likely to persist in parts of the Delta and southern districts on October 26, before easing by evening, he said.
According to his assessment, rainfall activity across Tamil Nadu is expected to drop considerably from October 27 as Cyclone Arnab moves away, pulling the easterly winds along with it. While much of the state could experience a dry spell until November 1, Coimbatore district may continue to see intermittent showers during this period, according to IMD reports.
