Public Toilet Construction Near Electric Pole in Palladam Sparks Concerns of Accident Risk

As the existing public toilet in Periyar Nagar area next to Palladam has collapsed, people have demanded that the high tension electric pole in the middle of the new toilet being constructed should be removed or else the toilet should be shifted.

Tirupur: The public has demanded that the public toilet near an electric pole near Palladam be shifted.

The existing public toilet in Periyar Nagar area of ward 41 of Palladam assembly constituency is on the verge of collapsing.

Due to this, the corporation administration is constructing a new toilet near the old toilet at an estimated cost of Rs.29 lakhs.

In this situation, the public have alleged that since there is a high tension electric pole in the middle of the toilet, construction work is continuing alongside the electric pole rather than removing the electric pole and beginning building work.

In this regard, the public stated,

The bhoomi pooja for the construction of a toilet was performed some where in 2022, however the toilet is now being built at a new place.

Due to the presence of a high-tension electric pole in the middle of the toilet, the public is afraid of an electrical leak at the place where water can be used and the possibility of an accident. Therefore, keeping this in mind, the electric pole should be removed otherwise the toilet should be constructed at an alternate place.
