It’s best to avoid scenes with smoking and drinking in movies - Actor Santhanam's appeal to directors

Actor Santhanam said that it is best for directors to avoid scenes like smoking and drinking alcohol in movies and added that if there is a good story again, he will act with big actors in a comedy role.

Coimbatore: Actor Santhanam has appealed to directors to avoid smoking and drinking scenes in movies.

Santhanam's upcoming film 'DD Returns' is all set to hit the theatres on July 28. Actor Santhanam gave an interview to the media at a private hotel on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore.

Then he spoke,

DD Returns has emerged as a horror film. It's a different kinda ghost film. And since it is a horror comedy, it will be a great treat for the fans. If the film becomes a hit, the sequel will be released.

Next is the film Vadakkupatti Ramasamy. Now that I am acting as a hero, if you ask me whether I am a comedian or a hero, it is like whether I want idli or dosa.

When I was a comedian, I was without any worries. Now that I am acting as a hero, I have kept my body fit. If there is a good story again, I will act in a comedy role with big actors.

There is still time to make his own film. My desire is to play different characters that no one has ever played before. He also advised that it is special for directors to avoid scenes like smoking and drinking in movies.

Responding to a question from reporters on Minister Muthusamy's remarks on those who consume alcohol in the morning, Santhanam was responding to a question. He replied with a smile that he had come to talk about DD Returns and if I answered in this regard, people would think I had drank liquor in the morning itself.
