Tirupur: Sushma Coir Factory owned by Kannimuthu is functioning at Narasingapuram in Madathukulam Myvadi Panchayat near Udumalpet in Tirupur district.

There was a sudden fire in the factory.

Due to the speed of the wind, the fire in the coconut husks spread quickly, and the entire coir factory was destroyed.

The fire destroyed machinery, coconut husks, and tractors valued roughly Rs 1 crore.

Udumalai Fire and Rescue Services personnel rushed to the spot after receiving the information and attempted to extinguish the fire with the assistance of more than five private water tankers.

The fire that broke out in a nearby transformer earlier reportedly also spread to a coir factory.

As the wind speed was high, they fought for more than three hours in an attempt to douse the fire and brought the fire under control.
