Former Minister SP Velumani Criticizes DMK and Annamalai at Coimbatore Event

In Coimbatore, former minister SP Velumani, along with AIADMK MLA Amman K. Arjunan and others, met Diocese Bishop Thomas Aquinas at St. Michael's Church and sought support for AIADMK candidates.

Coimbatore: At a significant gathering held today at St. Michael's Church in the Town Hall area of Coimbatore, a notable support rally was conducted for the AIADMK candidates. Covai constituency candidate Singai Ramachandran, former minister SP Velumani, Covai North AIADMK Assembly member Amman K. Arjunan, and KR Jayaram were present to garner support from Diocese Bishop Thomas Aquinas.

During the event, former Minister SP Velumani addressed the media, emphasizing the AIADMK’s support for its candidates across Coimbatore, Pollachi, Nilgiris, Tirupur, and Erode parliamentary constituencies. He highlighted the lack of development initiatives from the current DMK government and criticized both the ruling DMK and BJP's central leadership including Annamalai, for their unfulfilled promises, likening them to previous unmet assurances from DMK.

Velumani stated, "While DMK relies on financial power, we trust the people's support." He accused the current DMK regime and Annamalai of being active only in social media and not in practical governance. The former minister passionately claimed that the AIADMK under the leadership of Edappadi Palaniswami had revived many essential issues such as the Kaveri Management Board and various reservation policies, which were neglected by others.

In direct response to Annamalai's previous comments accusing AIADMK leaders of being inactive and secluded, Velumani retorted, "It is Annamalai who hides in air-conditioned rooms, not us." He continued to criticize the DMK for its opposition in Tamil Nadu and declared that only AIADMK has shown true development in the past 50 years.

The former minister's speech reflected the ongoing political rivalry in Tamil Nadu, sharply focusing on the achievements of AIADMK and pointing out the shortcomings and unfulfilled promises of both DMK and BJP, striving for a solid win in the upcoming elections.
