Fire Incident in Karamadai Thiruma Nagar Destroys 52 Huts

A sudden fire outbreak in Karamadai Thiruma Nagar, residing on Panchami land where over 140 huts have housed people for more than 3 years, destroyed 52 huts on April 29.


Coimbatore: In a tragic incident, a fire destroyed 52 huts in Karamadai Thiruma Nagar, a settlement on Panchami land where people have been residing in approximately 140 makeshift homes for over three years.



The fire erupted suddenly on April 29, quickly spreading to nearby homes due to high winds.



Upon receiving information about the incident, the fire department responded swiftly with three vehicles. Firefighters battled the blaze for about two hours before finally bringing it under control. Despite their efforts, 52 homes were consumed by fire, resulting in significant damage.




Fortunately, as most of the residents were away at work during the time of the fire, no lives were lost. The incident is currently under investigation by Karamadai police.
