DMK leaders visited and inspected the strong room with EVMs at Mahalingam Engineering College in Pollachi, ensuring surveillance management on May 1.

Coimbatore: In a significant event on May 1, key DMK figures including Coimbatore South District Secretary Thalapathy Murugesan, DMK candidate for the Pollachi Parliamentary constituency K. Eswarasamy, and other notable leaders inspected the strong room facility at Mahalingam Engineering College in Pollachi. This room currently houses the electronically recorded voting machines (EVMs).

Accompanied by M. Amuthabharathi, the observer for Valparai assembly constituency, the team reviewed the security arrangements, particularly the functioning of CCTV cameras around the strong room. Their visit underscores the importance of safeguarding electoral integrity in the wake of upcoming elections.

This inspection comes at a time when the security of EVM storage areas is under greater scrutiny to prevent any tampering or unauthorized access. The DMK leaders expressed satisfaction with the existing security measures but emphasized the need for continuous monitoring.

The strong room, equipped with advanced surveillance systems, plays a crucial role in ensuring that the voting machines are kept secure until the counting day. The leaders’ presence also aimed to reassure the public about the transparency and fairness of the election process.

Following the inspection, K. Eswarasamy addressed the media, highlighting the significance of stringent security protocols and the party's commitment to uphold the democratic process.
