High-Value Narcotics Seized in Thondamuthur, Six Arrested

On May 15, police seized narcotics worth Rs. 2 lakhs in Thondamuthur, Coimbatore, and arrested six individuals involved in the drug trafficking from Assam.


Coimbatore: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Coimbatore police seized high-grade narcotics valued at around Rs. 2 lakhs in the Thondamuthur region. The operation was initiated following a tip-off about the sale of narcotics in the area.

Based on the information, a special team led by the district police superintendent Badrinayaranan conducted a raid at a private paan shop in Muttippalayam, Thondamuthur. During the raid, the team discovered about 10 grams of high-grade narcotics stored in 70 plastic bottles.

Further investigation led to the arrest of six people, identified as Noorjahan Ismail and her wife Aashma Ka Thun (40), Idrish Ali and his wife Zaheera Ka Thun (29), Ehiyacin Ali’s son Idrish Ali (29), Alihehasin Ali’s wife Kuthija Ka Thun (37), Mansoor Ali’s son Alihehasin Ali (48), and Rabipul Islam (24). These individuals, hailing from Assam, were found to be transporting and selling the drugs in Coimbatore.



The police confiscated narcotics ready for sale and additional 1,900 plastic bottles from the arrested suspects, who were then detained and presented before a court for custodial remand.
