Two Express Trains to Face Delay Near Tiruppur on May 27 - Southern Railways

Southern Railway's Salem Division will regulate two express trains on May 27, 2026, for 30 minutes each near Tiruppur due to track renewal works at Perundurai Railway Yard in the Erode-Tiruppur section. Ernakulam-Tatanagar and Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express services will be affected.


Coimbatore: Southern Railway's Salem Division has announced temporary regulation of two major express train services on May 27, 2026, as track renewal works are underway at Perundurai Railway Yard in the Erode-Tiruppur section.




The railway authorities have notified passengers that Train No. 18190 Ernakulam-Tatanagar Express will be regulated for 30 minutes at Vanjipalayam railway station, located near Tiruppur. Additionally, Train No. 13352 Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express will face a similar 30-minute regulation at Tiruppur railway station.




Southern Railway officials have emphasized that this temporary regulation is essential to facilitate crucial infrastructure maintenance work and to ensure the continued safety of train operations in the region. The track renewal works at Perundurai Railway Yard are part of ongoing efforts to upgrade and maintain railway infrastructure for improved service reliability.




Passengers traveling on these services are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and account for the additional 30-minute delay. The railway department has assured that normal operations will resume immediately after the completion of the maintenance work on the scheduled date.
