Coimbatore: Following the launch of K. Annamalai’s new political movement, “We The Leaders,” several BJP functionaries and supporters have announced their departure from the party and expressed support for the former Tamil Nadu BJP chief. In the latest such development, Dr. Anusha Ravi, a social activist and educationist, has resigned from the BJP and pledged her support to Annamalai’s new political initiative.

In a detailed statement addressed to Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran, Dr. Anusha Ravi described her decision as one driven by conviction and a commitment to public service. Reflecting on the changing dynamics of contemporary politics, she observed that emerging generations are no longer mere spectators in the political process but active participants shaping its direction and purpose.

She credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the leader who first inspired her to enter public life, stating that his vision, determination and commitment to nation-building had served as a guiding force throughout her political journey. At the same time, she noted that K. Annamalai’s unwavering principles, clarity of thought and steadfast approach to leadership had deeply resonated with her, ultimately influencing her decision to support his new political initiative.

Dr. Anusha Ravi said that Tamil Nadu stands at a crucial juncture where transformative leadership and constructive political engagement are essential for the state’s continued progress. Describing “We The Leaders” as a movement driven by purpose and conviction, she expressed confidence that it would contribute meaningfully to Tamil Nadu’s growth across economic, social, educational and cultural spheres.

Stating that her public life has always been anchored in the causes of education and women’s empowerment, she said her decision was rooted not in political expediency but in deeply held personal convictions. She extended her wholehearted support and best wishes to Annamalai as he embarks on what she described as a bold new chapter in public life.

Announcing her resignation from both the post of State Secretary of the BJP’s Sports and Skill Development Cell and the party’s primary membership, Dr. Anusha Ravi expressed gratitude to State President Nainar Nagendran and the BJP leadership for their guidance, encouragement and support during her tenure. She also thanked party office-bearers, colleagues and cadre members for their cooperation throughout her political journey.
