Power Cut in 7 Substations Across Coimbatore Tomorrow (June 9, 2026)

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has announced scheduled power disruption in seven substations including Kaundampalayam, Madhampatty, Marudur, Devarayapuram, Periyanayakkanpalayam, Bhavani Dam, and Thondamuthur areas tomorrow (June 9, 2026) from 9 AM to 5 PM for monthly maintenance work across Coimbatore district.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has announced that power supply will be disrupted in several areas across Coimbatore district tomorrow (June 9) due to scheduled monthly maintenance work at seven substations. The maintenance activities are scheduled to take place between 9 AM and 5 PM.

The electricity board has requested public cooperation during the maintenance period and informed that power supply may be restored earlier than scheduled if the emergency works are completed ahead of time.

Kaundampalayam Area:

Due to maintenance work at Kaundampalayam substation, power supply will be suspended in Housing Board, A.R. Nagar, Thamami Nagar, Driver Colony, Samundeeswarinagar, Sukuna Nagar, Union Road, Ashok Nagar, Murugan Nagar, and Bharathi Nagar areas.

Madhampatty Area:

Maintenance work at Madhampatty substation will result in power disruption in Madhampatty, Alandurai, Kuppanur, Karadimadai, Poondhi, Semmedu, Theetthipalayam, Perur, Kaundanur, Kalampalayam, and Perur Settipalayam areas.

Marudur Area:

Due to maintenance at Marudur substation, power supply will be affected in Tholampalayam, Velliyangadu, Siliyur, Thayanur, Marudur, Chennivirampalayam, Karamadai, Chikkarampalayam, Karichipalayam, Kannarpalayam, Kalattur, Pojanganur, and M.G.Puthur areas.

Devarayapuram Area:

Maintenance work at Devarayapuram substation will cause power disruption in Poluvampatty, Viraliyur, Narasipuram, J.N.Palayam, Kaliyannamputhur, Puthur, Thennamanallur, Kondayampalayam, and Thendral Nagar areas.

Periyanayakkanpalayam Area:

Due to maintenance at Periyanayakkanpalayam substation, power supply will be suspended in Nayakkanpalayam, Kovanur, Koodalur, Kaundampalayam, Jothipuram, Press Colony, Veerapandhi, Sengalipalayam, Poochiyur, Samanayakkanpalayam, Athipalayam, Govindhanayakkanpalayam, and Maniyakkarampalayam areas.

Bhavani Dam Area:

Maintenance work at Bhavani Dam substation will result in power disruption in Thekkampatty, Nanjayagoundanputhur, Sukku Coffee Shop, Samayapuram, Badrakaliamman Temple, Nellithurai, Kendampalayam, Thothadasanur, Ramaiyagoundanputhur, and Uppuppallam areas.

Thondamuthur Area:

Due to maintenance at Thondamuthur substation, power supply will be suspended in Thondamuthur, Deenampalayam, Uliyampalayam, Thaliyur, Kembbanur, Muthipalayam, Kalikkanayakkanpalayam, Poochiyur, Puthupalayam, Kulathupalayam, and Chithraisavadi areas.

The electricity board has clarified that these are routine monthly maintenance works essential for ensuring uninterrupted power supply in the long term. Residents in the affected areas have been advised to plan accordingly and complete necessary tasks before the scheduled maintenance period begins tomorrow morning.
