Coimbatore District Collector Invites Applications for Kalpana Chawla Award for Bravery

Coimbatore District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has invited applications for the Tamil Nadu Government's Kalpana Chawla Award for acts of courage and bravery. Eligible women applicants can apply until June 19, 2026, for this prestigious recognition presented annually on Independence Day.


Coimbatore: District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has announced the invitation for applications for the Kalpana Chawla Award for acts of courage and bravery from Coimbatore district.

The Tamil Nadu Government's Kalpana Chawla Award for courage and bravery is presented every year by the Chief Minister during the Independence Day celebrations. Women applicants from Tamil Nadu who have performed acts of courage and bravery are eligible to apply for this award, according to the announcement.

Eligible applicants should submit their applications through the website www.awards.tn.gov.in with detailed bio-data, relevant information, and supporting documents. The hard copy must be submitted at the District Social Welfare Office functioning at the District Collectorate premises by June 19, 2026, stated District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar.

This award is presented with the aim of encouraging women who serve as role models for society through their courageous acts. Applicants have been advised to submit all documents related to their brave deeds accurately and completely to be considered for this prestigious recognition.
