Areas like Eechanari, Pothanur, Kuppepalyam, and Avarampalayam will be affected by the power supply disruption.

Coimbatore: The Electricity Board has announced that power supply will be disrupted in various parts of Coimbatore district tomorrow (June 16), Monday, from 9 AM to 4 PM due to scheduled maintenance work at three major substations.

Due to maintenance activities at the Pothanur substation, power supply will be suspended in Eechanari, N.J.Puram, K.V.Palayam, Pothanur, and Vellalur areas. The Electricity Board has requested residents and commercial establishments in these areas to plan their activities accordingly.

Maintenance work at the Kuppepalyam substation will affect power supply in an extensive list of areas including Kuppebpalyam, Onnipalayam, C.K.Palayam, Kallipalayam, Kattampatti, Sengalipalayam, Karichipalayam, Vadugapalayam, Kathavukkarai, Mondikkaliputhur, Moonukkattiyur, and Rangappagoundanputhur. Since these areas are predominantly residential and agricultural zones, farmers have been advised to complete their irrigation activities in advance.

Maintenance work at the Papanayakkanpalayam substation will result in power cuts in Poorani Colony, Avarampalayam, Ganesh Nagar, Kamadhenu Nagar, Nava India Road, Ganapathy Bus Stand, Chithaputhur, Palayur, P.N.Palayam, GKNM Hospital, Alamu Nagar, Ramakrishna Hospital, and Kalyana Mandapam areas. Electricity Board officials have stated that alternative power arrangements have been made as this area includes two major hospitals.

The Electricity Board has informed that these maintenance activities are essential to improve the reliability of the power supply system and reduce future power outages. Power is expected to be restored immediately after the completion of work at the scheduled time. The Electricity Board has appealed to the public to plan their daily activities accordingly.
