Coimbatore: District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has announced that applications are now being welcomed for Tamil Nadu government state awards honoring individuals, organizations and institutions that have provided exemplary service for the welfare of differently abled persons.
The Collector stated that NGOs, social workers, doctors, private companies and others working dedicatedly for the welfare of differently abled persons in Coimbatore district can directly apply for these awards. Eligible candidates will be selected through a selection committee and the state awards will be presented and honored by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
In the individual category, awards will be given to those who have provided exceptional voluntary service for the welfare of differently abled persons and to outstanding NGOs serving differently abled persons. These awards include a 10-gram gold medal, Rs 50,000 cash prize and a certificate.
Additionally, awards comprising 10-gram gold medals and certificates will be presented to the best doctor providing exceptional service to differently abled persons, private company providing maximum employment opportunities, outstanding social worker, and the District Central Cooperative Bank providing maximum credit facilities to differently abled persons.
Individuals and organizations wishing to apply for state awards must apply directly through the website www.awards.tn.gov.in by June 25, 2026. Applicants are also requested to submit two copies of the completed application form at the District Differently Abled Welfare Office by 5 PM on June 25.
