Coimbatore Peelamedu Ward 27 Undertakes Dengue Prevention and Sanitation Development Activities

Coimbatore Ward 27 in singanallur constituency conducted dengue mosquito eradication, anganwadi inspection, road cleaning, and rainwater drainage works. Ward Councillor Ambika Dhanapal personally inspected all activities and guided sanitation workers. Daily sanitation maintenance was ensured across residential areas.


Coimbatore: Various development activities including sanitation improvement and dengue prevention measures were undertaken today in peelamedu area, Ward No. 27, North Zone of Coimbatore Corporation under Singanallur Assembly Constituency. Ward Councillor Ambika Dhanapal personally visited and inspected all the works and provided guidance.



Dengue mosquito eradication work was carried out by DBC staff and RR team in Rangammal Kovil Street area. Mosquito larvae were identified and removed. Subsequently, bleaching powder was applied and abate medicine was poured into water tanks. Ward Councillor Ambika Dhanapal personally visited and inspected these works. Ward Inspector Baskar accompanied her during the inspection.



Ward Councillor Ambika Dhanapal personally visited and inspected the Integrated Child Development Anganwadi Centre operating in Perumal Kovil Street area. Children's attendance register and kitchen were inspected. Anganwadi workers were present during the inspection. Enquiries were made regarding children's nutrition and sanitation maintenance.



Work to clean tree debris along the roadside from Aasai Bakery to Mahalakshmi Temple on Avarampalayam main road was undertaken. Ward Councillor Ambika Dhanapal personally visited and observed this, urging sanitation workers to thoroughly clean all tree debris.



Work to clean roadside garbage and sewage mud in Duraisamy Naidu Layout area was carried out. Ward Councillor Ambika Dhanapal personally inspected this and ordered sanitation workers to clean roadside garbage daily. She emphasized the importance of daily sanitation maintenance in residential areas.



Survey work for installing new rainwater drainage system under Namakku Name scheme was conducted in Block Mariamman Kovil Street area. Ward AE Kumar personally visited and inspected. Ward 27 Councillor Ambika Dhanapal accompanied him. This work is being undertaken to prevent monsoon flood damage.
