Coimbatore Corporation Conducts Intensive Mosquito Control Drive in PN Pudur Ward

Coimbatore Corporation's 41st Ward in PN Pudur witnessed comprehensive mosquito control operations including fumigation, door-to-door larva elimination through DBC method, and waste collection. The initiative was implemented under Councillor K Santhi Chandran's direction to ensure public health and maintain a clean environment for residents.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation launched an intensive mosquito control drive in the PN Pudur area of the 41st Ward, implementing multiple preventive measures to safeguard public health. Under the direction of Councillor K Santhi Chandran, comprehensive sanitation operations were carried out on Thursday (25.06.2026).

Corporation workers conducted fumigation operations along Sundaram Street in PN Pudur as part of the mosquito eradication initiative. The fumigation drive was systematically executed to control mosquito breeding and prevent the spread of vector-borne diseases in residential areas.

Simultaneously, the Corporation implemented DBC (Door to Door Collection) methodology for larva elimination across the PN Pudur locality. Corporation personnel visited homes to inspect water stagnation points and carried out preventive measures to eliminate mosquito larvae. This targeted approach aims to prevent dengue fever and other mosquito-borne diseases that pose health risks to residents.

As part of the integrated sanitation drive, waste collection operations were conducted using Tata Ace vehicles. Workers collected segregated waste from households, gathering both biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials in a systematic manner to maintain environmental cleanliness.

The coordinated multi-pronged approach combining fumigation, larva control, and waste management is expected to significantly reduce mosquito population in the PN Pudur area and improve overall public health standards in the ward.
