Corporation Commissioner Inspects Ondiputhur ABC Centre and Ukkadam Sewage Collection Centre

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS inspected the Animal Birth Control Centre for stray dogs at Ondiputhur and the sewage collection centre at Ukkadam Pullukadu. He reviewed operations and verified service delivery at both key municipal facilities.


Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS today (27.06.2026) conducted field inspections of crucial urban service centres in the city. He visited the ABC Centre (Animal Birth Control surgical centre for stray dogs) located in Ondiputhur area under Ward No. 57 of the East Zone, and the sewage collection centre situated in Ukkadam, Pullukadu area under Ward No. 86 of the South Zone.



At the Ondiputhur ABC Centre, the Corporation Commissioner personally inspected the stray dogs being maintained and the vehicles used for animal birth control surgical operations. He enquired with officials about the centre's operations and ensured that welfare activities for stray dogs are being carried out properly.

Subsequently, the Commissioner visited the sewage collection centre at Ukkadam Pullukadu and obtained detailed information about its operations. Officials informed him that the centre has a total of 120 vehicles, of which 110 vehicles are engaged in daily sewage collection operations continuously.

The Commissioner also personally examined the records maintained at the sewage collection centre. He reviewed documentation related to vehicle operations, maintenance, and daily collection details. This inspection was conducted to ensure that the city's sanitation works are being executed efficiently.

Through this inspection, it has become evident that the Corporation administration is acting proactively to ensure that the city's key service centres are functioning properly.
