Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu government has extended the application deadline for its two-wheeler vehicle subsidy scheme for Ulamas by 15 days, allowing eligible beneficiaries to apply until July 15, 2026. District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar announced that Ulamas registered with the Ulama and Employees Welfare Board, aged between 18 and 60 years, can avail subsidy of up to Rs 50,000 for purchasing new two-wheelers.

Applications are being received from Ulamas working in mosques across Tamil Nadu, including Pesh Imams, Aalims, Arabic teachers and lady teachers. The scheme represents a significant welfare initiative by the state government to support the religious workforce serving in mosques throughout the state.

To benefit from this scheme, applicants must obtain application forms from the District Minority Welfare Officer at District Collectorate offices. The forms must be submitted with necessary documents to the District Minority Welfare Office. District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar emphasized that beneficiaries should purchase the two-wheeler only after receiving approval for their application.

Completed applications along with required documents must be submitted to the District Minority Welfare offices by July 15, 2026. The subsidy scheme is one of the key welfare programs under the Tamil Nadu Ulama and Employees Welfare Board, and is expected to provide substantial relief to Ulamas working in mosques across the state.
