National Medal-Winning Football Players Invited for Coaching Role in Coimbatore

Coimbatore District Nehru Stadium is seeking applications for a part-time football coach under the Khelo India scheme. National medal-winning players under 40 years are eligible. Monthly salary of Rs.25,000 offered. Application deadline is July 30, 2026.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority has invited applications for a part-time coaching position at the football training center operating at Coimbatore District Nehru Stadium under the Khelo India scheme funding.

The center currently trains 50-100 young athletes daily. The position seeks a national-level achieving football player aged below 40 years who has demonstrated excellence in the sport.

Essential qualifications include being a medal winner at international competitions or national-level tournaments, having won medals at All India Inter-University competitions, or having participated in international competitions and senior national tournaments. These credentials are mandatory for consideration.

The selected coach will receive a monthly consolidated salary of Rs.25,000 for 11 months. This is not a permanent position and is purely temporary in nature. Candidates cannot claim employment benefits or permanent position based on this appointment.

Application forms can be collected in person from the Coimbatore District Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority office at the District Sports Office between 10 AM and 5 PM. Applications will be accepted until July 30, 2026.

Eligible applicants will face an interview scheduled for August 4, 2026 at Coimbatore District Nehru Stadium. The selection process will evaluate physical fitness, sports skills, medals won, and coaching ability. District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar announced these details.

This initiative to appoint nationally experienced players as coaches to provide quality training to young athletes is expected to significantly enhance the skill development of district football players. The program represents a major opportunity for nurturing grassroots talent in the region.
