A 35-year-old construction worker from West Bengal has been arrested by the Kavundampalayam Police for allegedly sexually assaulting a goat in Coimbatore. He has been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and remanded to judicial custody.

According to police, the complainant, Satheesh Kumar (54), a resident of Mariamman Koil Street in Kavundampalayam, rears around 10 goats in a shed attached to his house.
On Tuesday evening, Satheesh Kumar reportedly heard one of his goats making unusual noises, prompting him to check on it. To his shock, he allegedly found Gobindo Das (35), a native of West Bengal, engaged in a sexual act with the animal.
Police said that when Satheesh Kumar attempted to intervene, the accused allegedly abused him, pelted stones at him, and issued death threats before fleeing the spot.
Based on the complaint, the Kavundampalayam Police registered a case and arrested the accused. He has been booked under Sections 296(b) and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 11(1)(a) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act. He was later produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
