Power Shutdown Tomorrow (22.07.2026) at Anna University Substation for Maintenance Work

Anna University substation will undergo monthly maintenance on July 22 from 9 AM to 4 PM. Multiple areas including Kalveerampalayam, Maruthamalai Road, IOP Colony, Anna University, Bharathiar University, Maruthamalai Temple area, and several residential localities will face power disruption during this period.


Coimbatore: Residents of several areas in Coimbatore will experience a scheduled power outage tomorrow (July 22) as the Anna University substation undergoes routine monthly maintenance work. The power supply will be suspended from 9 AM to 4 PM to facilitate these essential maintenance activities.




The affected areas include Kalveerampalayam, Maruthamalai Road, IOP Colony, Anna University campus, Bharathiar University campus, Maruthamalai Temple area, Tata Nagar, Anna Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Thansa Nagar, Navawur Division, Kalpana Nagar, and Kurumbapalayam. The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has requested residents and businesses in these localities to make necessary arrangements in advance to minimize inconvenience during the seven-hour power disruption.




The monthly maintenance work is part of the regular upkeep of electrical infrastructure to ensure reliable power supply and prevent potential breakdowns. Authorities have assured that power supply will be restored promptly after the completion of maintenance activities by 4 PM.
