Coimbatore: As Vinayagar Chaturthi celebrations unfolded grandly across Coimbatore today, the Puliyakulam Mundhi Vinayagar Temple presented Lord Vinayagar to devotees in special royal decoration. Adorned with 50 kilograms of sandalwood and two tonnes of flowers, the deity welcomed devotees with a special peacock feather garland.

The Vinayagar idol at Puliyakulam Mundhi Vinayagar Temple is the largest single-stone statue in the Asian continent. This magnificent idol weighs 190 tonnes, stands 19 feet tall, and measures 10 feet in width. For this year's Vinayagar Chaturthi, the special deity was decorated in royal attire with sandalwood covering.

Special pujas and yagnas were conducted at the temple from early morning. Devotees' favourite kozhukattai and various sweets were offered to Lord Vinayagar during the special worship ceremonies. Devotees have been continuously visiting the temple for darshan throughout the day.

Special arrangements have been made at the temple to ensure hassle-free darshan for devotees. Barricades have been erected, and over 40 police personnel have been deployed for security duty. Traffic has been regulated, and devotees are being allowed inside in an organized queue system.

Apart from Puliyakulam Mundhi Vinayagar Temple, special Vinayagar Chaturthi pujas are being conducted at all Vinayagar temples across Coimbatore, including the Eachanari Vinayagar Temple. Large numbers of devotees are visiting temples to worship Lord Vinayagar and receive blessings.
