Located in the Sadivayal area under the Boluvampatti Forest Range, the waterfall attracts visitors from Coimbatore, other districts and neighbouring states.
Heavy rainfall in the catchment areas recently triggered a significant rise in water flow, resulting in a flood that prompted the Forest Department to temporarily suspend tourist access in the interest of public safety. Visitors were also warned against entering the waterfall area or forest boundaries without permission.
With the water flow now returning to normal and safety conditions improving, the Coimbatore district administration has announced the reopening of Kovai Kutralam, allowing tourists to resume visits from today.
