Job scam: man handed over to police

Three youth on Sunday handed a person over to the Central Crime Branch here stating that he was one among the three who cheated them of several lakh of rupees promising jobs in West Asian countries.

Prakash (32) of Nagapattinam told reporters here that his brother had paid Rs. 1.3 lakh.

They said that the person, his brother, and their associate worked from an internet café near Peelamedu.

They said that they had taken Rs. 1 lakh from many unemployed engineering graduates promising jobs. Though the cheating was reported at police stations in Coimbatore, and Nagapattinam no action had been taken so far, said Mr. Prakash.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Central Crime Branch), VMP Asaithambi said that it was the brother of the man whom the youth had detained cheated them.
