France Govt to honour Actor Kamal Haasan with Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts Arts et Lettres

The Legion of Honor, France’s premier award Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts Arts et Lettres (Knight in the National Order of Arts and Letters) by the Minister of Culture and Communication will honor Kamal Haasan, shortly at a special award ceremony in France, sources say.

Recently in April 2016,  Kamal Haasan became the first south Indian actor to receive the International honor — the 'Henri Langlois Award' for his contribution to cinema. The award is instituted to commemorate French film archivist Henri Langlois, who had been honored with an honorary Oscar in 1974.

The announcement has turned out to be proud moment for the Indian cinema fraternity and yet another laudable accolade for Kamal Haasan.
