Distinct protest by CPM party to improve basic amenities in Thudiyalur

The activists of the CPM party today demonstrated a distinct protest by covering themselves with mosquito nets and holding empty water barrels. They alleged the Corporation authorities for the poor sanitation conditions in ward no:1 & 2, Thudiyalur.

They stated that on every Monday after the weekly 'sandhai' (market) at Thudiyalur, the vegetable remains have been left uncleared for the whole week by the Corporation leading to severe hygienic issues. 'The place has become a haven for mosquitos to thrive and the stray dogs have been thronging around the garbage posing serious threats to the pedestrians and residents of ward No:1 &2', they alleged.

In recent times, the residents, especially the children have been suffering from infectious fevers like dengue and hence the Corporation officials have to necessitate immediate action to ascertain proper sanitary standards and control thriving of mosquitos around the area, they urged. The protestors also insisted to fulfil the basic amenities like hygienic drinking water, good roads and drainage facilities at ward no:1 & 2.

Finally the protestors marched towards the North division Corporation Office and submitted their plea to the officials, who have assured of immediate action. CPM Division Secretary N. Raja led the protest along with other district office bearers and the public.
