All Party meeting scheduled to discuss on the pressing Siruvani dam issue


G. Ramakrishnan, President of Thandhai Periyar Dravida Kalagam at a press meet, reported that an all party discussion meet has been organised tomorrow (31.08.2016) to discuss on the Siruvani dam issue. 



He briefed that the intent of Kerala Government to construct a dam at the Attapadi, Agali region has been widely condemned by all sectors of the community and political outfits in Tamilnadu. The approvals issued by the Central Government's Forest & Environmental department to go ahead with the construction is against the interest and well being of the state of Tamilnadu, he said. 

Hence an all party meeting has been planned to raise the concern jointly condemning the efforts of the Kerala Government to build the dam. Students association, Political outfits, Farmers Union, Social-welfare organisations will be participating in the meet, he said. 'Periyar Dravida Kalagam would aggravate the protests, until a solution is derived for the issue', he asserted.
