Miscreants set cars on fire at midnight in Thudiyalur

Karthikeyan, a workshop owner from Idikarai had parked two of his cars, an Omni and a Maruthi 800 outside his house. Yesterday, around midnight some unidentified persons had set fire to both his cars. The thick fumes of flames woke Karthikeyan, who was shocked to see his cars burning intensely. Karthikeyan tried to douse the flames with the help of neighbours but the fire was uncontrollable and starting spreading to the nearby houses. The incident was informed to the North Fire Rescue Department, who rushed to the spot and put off the fire and cleared the the situation. The cars were completely gutted out due to the fire. Nearby residents were also moderately damaged due to the incident. 

Karthikeyan stated that the fire personnels intervention at the right time has stopped a huge disaster, as the cars were fitted with LPG Cylinders. The Periyanaickenpalayam Police have registered a case and are presently scrutinise the CCTV footages from the residents to identify the miscreants. 

The incident was created panic amongst the residents as most of them park their four and two wheelers outside their homes.
