'Skoch Smart City Award' at the 45th Skoch Summit is an initiative to recognise and encourage top performing government bodies, organisations and organisations working with the government operating at the city level for developing and upgrading the existing Indian cities to turn them into Smarter Cities.
Skoch smart governance, Skoch digital India, Skoch Inclusive Insurance, Skoch Indian Cities and Skoch smart services are the awards to be conferred at the summit, under various categories like governance, finance, banking, technology, corporate citizenship, economics and inclusive growth.
Out of the 600 cities enrolled, Coimbatore City Corporation led by Dr. Vijaya Karthikeyan, City Corporation Commissioner, presented their contributions and achievements in upgrading the city standards, under various categories. Today, on 8th September 2016 at the HICC, Hitech City, Hyderabad, top performing projects with best practices were conferred with Skoch Order-of-Merit Award. The panel of judges have accoladed our corporation with 8 medals for the following projects:

Amongst the Skoch Order-of-Merit recipients the awards with highest national ranking would be conferred with Skoch Roll-of-Honour Award on 9th September, 2016, which is the highest Skoch Swachh Bharat Award. With a dozen of awards already bagged up, there are good chances for our Coimbatore City Corporation to bag the overall award for smart city.
