7 killed, two dozen injured in terrorist attacks in Syria’s Aleppo

Most of the seven victims of the Friday terrorist attacks in Aleppo are women and children, the SANA news agency said on Friday citing a source at Aleppo Police Command.

In addition to the deaths and 24 injuries, the Aleppo police reported material damage to city properties.

Earlier on Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Islamic State (Daesh) and Jabhat Fatah al-Sham (also known as al-Nusra Front, or Jabhat al-Nusra) terrorists fired at a number of civilian objects with multiple launch rocket systems (MRLS) and mortars in Syria's Aleppo.

Under the new US-Russia plan agreed as a result of talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday in Geneva, a demilitarised zone will be created around Aleppo to deliver aid to the city. On August 27, UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura reiterated his call for all parties to the Syrian conflict to agree on a 48-hour humanitarian pause in Aleppo aimed at aid delivery and repairs for the city's power and water systems. Russia supported the proposal.
