Unable to quit alcohol, man ends life

Dejected over his life, and his inability to quit alcohol, a 28 year old hung himself at his house at Mettupalayam here on Saturday.

According to sources, the deceased R.Manickam was reportedly residing with his wife and son at Palapatty Road at Mettupalayam.

Due to family issues, the couple got separated and was living separately as he frequently quarreled with his wife in inebriated condition. However, he continued to drink even though he was living with his parents.

On Saturday, a quarrel had erupted between him and his mother as he came home drunk. Frustrated with this, Manickam hung himself at his residence. A postmortem was conducted at the Mettupalayam.

Government Hospital and a case has been registered with the Mettupalayam police.
