MLAs K.R. Jayaram and V. Jayaraman Pay Tribute to Dheeran Chinnamalai on His 219th Death Anniversary

MLAs K.R. Jayaram and V. Jayaraman paid homage to freedom fighter Dheeran Chinnamalai on his 219th death anniversary in Coimbatore. Tributes were paid at Peelamedu and Pollachi MLA office on August 3.


Coimbatore: On August 3, Coimbatore district witnessed solemn tributes to the legendary freedom fighter Dheeran Chinnamalai on his 219th death anniversary. The commemorations took place at two locations in the district, with MLAs and local dignitaries participating in the events.

In Peelamedu, Singanallur MLA K.R. Jayaram paid floral tributes to the portrait of Dheeran Chinnamalai. The event was organized by the Peelamedu Velalar Sanmarga Sangam. Peelamedu Duraisamy, officials of the Velalar Sanmarga Sangam, and members of the public joined the MLA in paying their respects to the freedom fighter.



At the Pollachi MLA office, another tribute ceremony was held. MLA V. Jayaraman garlanded the portrait of Dheeran Chinnamalai and paid his respects. The event saw the participation of several local DMK party members and officials.



Krishnakumar, the city party secretary, Senthilkumar, James Raja, Subramaniam, and many others attended the ceremony in Pollachi. The dual events highlighted the continued reverence for Dheeran Chinnamalai's contributions to India's freedom struggle across different parts of Coimbatore district.

These tributes serve as a reminder of Dheeran Chinnamalai's significant role in the fight against British colonialism and his enduring legacy in Tamil Nadu's history. The participation of elected representatives and the public underscores the importance of remembering and honoring the sacrifices made by freedom fighters in shaping the nation's destiny.
