Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Holds Blood Donation Camp on World Blood Donor Day

Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore, organised a Blood Donation Camp at Velumaniammal Hall on June 13, 2026, marking World Blood Donor Day. Dr. Sundar Ramakrishnan, Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust, inaugurated the event. Over 100 voluntary donors participated, demonstrating commitment to saving lives through blood donation.


Coimbatore: In observance of World Blood Donor Day, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital organised a Blood Donation Camp at Velumaniammal Hall within its premises on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The initiative aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and raise awareness about the critical importance of blood donors in saving lives.




The camp was formally inaugurated by Dr. Sundar Ramakrishnan, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, who emphasized the vital role of voluntary blood donation in strengthening healthcare services. Addressing the gathering, he appreciated the selfless contribution of blood donors and encouraged the public, students, employees, and social organisations to actively participate in such noble initiatives.




The event was attended by Ramkumar C.V., Chief Executive Officer, Mahesh Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer, Dr. S. Rajagopal, Medical Director, and Dr. S. Alagappan, Medical Superintendent. They lauded the efforts of voluntary donors and highlighted the necessity of maintaining an adequate blood supply to support emergency medical care, surgeries, cancer treatment, maternal health services, and other critical healthcare requirements.




A large number of voluntary donors enthusiastically participated in the camp, demonstrating their commitment towards community welfare and humanitarian service. The hospital's Blood Centre team ensured a safe and comfortable donation process by strictly adhering to all quality and safety protocols.




Hospital officials reiterated that a single unit of donated blood has the potential to save multiple lives and encouraged healthy individuals to make blood donation a regular practice. The event witnessed active participation from more than 100 members of the public and students, making the initiative a resounding success.
